Hi friends and family!
Matthew is running his second 50k inspired by his son Theo. Matthew's running journey started mid November 2020 after reading an article in the New York Times about Chris Nikic's Ironman completion while also learning of RODS. Matthew never ran past a 10k and set a goal to run his first half marathon in 2021. 6 half marathons were completed that year. In 2022, he completed the Wy'east Howl 50k. This year he is competing in the Perpetua 50k in hopes of possibly completing a 50 miler next year. Theo is our everything, his kindness, humor and resilience inspires us everyday. We know that people with Down Syndrome can live very fulfilling lives, inspiring so many people around them and we hope to join and advocate for a cultural shift in acceptance and love.
