Cooper Murray, an 11-year-old boy with Down syndrome, continues his extraordinary journey to unite orphaned children with Down syndrome or other unique circumstances with loving, forever families - one pitch at a time.
Cooper’s inspiring story began on a street corner in a city of 14 million people where he was abandoned at just six months old. When he was four years old, his life took a miraculous turn when he was adopted into a loving family.
Today, he is not only living a life filled with love and support but is also determined to empower other orphaned children with Down syndrome to find their forever families by inspiring the world to open their hearts to adoption as he throws the Ceremonial First Pitch at MLB stadium across the nation .
Together, Cooper and RODS Heroes aims to help 30 orphaned children with Down syndrome or other unique circumstances find their forever family and raise enough money to bless those families with Heroes Grants to help offset the cost of adoption - which can sometimes cost up to $40,000 - alongside throwing the first pitch at all 30 MLB stadiums in the nation.
Cooper has already achieved remarkable milestones, as he has thrown the First Pitch at several MLB games, including the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, the Atlanta Braves, and soon, the New York Mets.
